Time in a bottle
Beating around the Bosch
with
Dear Reader,
We have tumbled through the first seven months of 2024 and arrived, flustered, at the threshold of the last quarter of the academic year. Our honours year has made us painfully aware of time, to the minute, the second even, when it comes to deadlines. Yet time has still found a way to creep up on us. In an effort to honour time, we compiled some of our favourite moments from our year this far. Taking a moment to reflect helps us ground ourselves, and claim a fragment of control over time’s slippery and elusive character.

Visual of the Week
📸Some BTS from SMF News’ Nic Gleeson:
I stumbled upon my news story completely by chance whilst on a walk. I returned quickly to the corner of Merriman, camera in hand to get some visuals. Whilst strolling past the people queueing to receive food and clothing to get a better shot, I heard a voice from behind me shouting, “Take a photo of me!” I turned and quickly snapped a pic of him, and luckily my settings had just been adjusted. I’m not a photographer by any means, so getting visual of the week is a huge honour! Sometimes, you get lucky.
